How Do I Join CWCC?You can download the membership application form from the button below. Once you have completed and emailed/posted the form then someone from the committee will contact you to advise on the next step, normally this would involve attending one of our informal interviews (venue will be confirmed should you be invited to an interview).
Questions & AnswersQ, will I be guaranteed membership if I apply to join CWCC? No, membership is not guaranteed, once we receive your application we then arrange an informal interview so we get to meet the prospective new members, this is where we get to meet you and you get to ask us as many questions as you like!
Q, how do I get to learn about Wildfowling if I am new to the sport? If you do not know anyone who is a current CWCC member who can accompany you for your first few outings then the committee will discuss this with you and hopefully get someone to guide you for your first few wildfowling trips. Q, what is the yearly subscription? Our current subscription is £210 per annum, this includes membership to BASC. You will also get a CWCC badge, a Wildlife Habitat Trust duck stamp, a current tide table, access to our web site members area and a membership card which will need to be carried by members whilst on any club shooting ground. Q, Is there a joining fee? Yes, we have a one off joining fee of £50. If you decide to leave the club and re-join at a later date then you will not have to pay this fee again. Q, I have already got BASC membership so can I have a reduced cost CWCC membership? No, we have to know that our members are insured at all times so we insist that BASC membership is part of our package. Q, what shooting is available? We currently have 8 marshes available for access by foot and 2 marshes that are accessible by boat, this makes up several miles of coast line. We also offer pigeon shooting around Essex, we have a few thousand acres of land, not all of the pigeon shooting farm land is available for shooting at all times of the year sometimes due to game shoots etc. Q, Will someone show me around the marshes so I get to know the paths and parking areas etc? Yes, we have a new members walk about, this is a date that we usually arrange on a Sunday morning towards the end of August or maybe very early September, we meet at a convenient location and visit all of the foot accessible marshes so we can explain about the gates, security, parking and marsh access etc. If you have any further questions then please fill in the membership application here and join one of our informal interviews to ask us as many questions as you like. We do not expect you to join our club if after the meeting that you decide that CWCC is not for you! |
